Since Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I put together a list of date ideas that are way better than just going out to dinner. (P.s. these would all be fun activities to do with your girls too – no boyfriend needed!)
1. Take a cooking class
- Try going to Sur La Table or even look on Groupon for classes. You’ll most likely be making something you wouldn’t normally make at home so it’s a fun way to switch it up and learn something new
- Columbus: if you’re local to Cbus, try Sur La Table at Easton, or Flowers & Bread in Clintonville
2. Relax at a spa
- Spending the day relaxing together with couple messages, pedicures, getting facials or even try float tank therapy or salt caves.
- Columbus: The W Nail Bar, Skin & Sugar, Penzone, Woodhouse Day Spa, Ebb & Float, and Oasis Face Bar are good places to check out
3. Get tickets to a comedy club
- My boyfriend and I have gone to a few different shows and I’ve left in a good mood every time. I mean who doesn’t like spending an hour laughing?
- Columbus: The Funny Bone or Shadowbox Live
4. Take a ‘paint + sip’ class
- Find yourself a BYOB painting class – it’s honestly so therapeutic that even if your painting turns out horrible, you’ll still feel good, partially from your wine buzz, but also like painting is relaxing af
- Columbus: Studio 614 – I went here for my birthday with a few girlfriends and it was so much fun. I didn’t really want to do a birthday dinner like I do every year and I was able to do a small private party. You can either do a private party with a group of friends or sign up for one of their classes. They have so many options for crafts and paintings. They even have a “paint your pet” option, sooo yeah I need a Penelope painting asap
5. Grab drinks at a bar with live music
- Make dinner at home or grab a quick bite and then head to a bar with live music for drinks (and maybe even dancing???)
- Columbus: Brother Drake, Big Bang Piano Bar, Park Street Tavern, and The Walrus are just a few places that have live music on certain nights
